When do I vote?

The County General Election is August 6th, 2026. Early voting starts July 17th-August 1st, 2026.

Please mark you calendars.

Where is District 20 in Montgomery County?

District 20 is located off Exit 1 in Clarksville, spanning from Meriwether Road to Tylertown Road.

Why should I vote for you?

I am one of two people who wanted to step up and represent us in District 20 and I AM the best pick. I care deeply about our community and have a track record of improving it that started long before I decided to run in this election.

I care about the same things you do and I'm willing to fight for new ideas that you bring to me. I want to represent EVERY voice and I want to keep us all informed on what the county government is doing.

I have lived experieces like my house flooding and my car being stolen out of my drive way, that push me even harder to want to implement change.

Why the skate in all the logos?

I've been an athelete in the sport of Roller Derby and it's my passion. Check out Clarksville Roller Derby (2) Facebook  for local games and practice times. We always love to welcome new faces.

About Renee

Hi! I am Renee Michelle Bruens and I am running for County Commissioner of District 20 because I believe our community is stronger together. My commitment to serve is rooted in lived experience, community leadership, and a deep belief in bringing people together to solve real problems.

I've always advocated for the people", such as currently serving my second year as Vice President of our HOA board. I work alongside neighbors to address concerns such as flooding, strengthen communication, and make decisions that benefit all of us. This role reinforces my values of transparency, accountability, and practical leadership.

As a veteran's wife and proud mother of two sons, I understand the importance of service, responsibility, and building a strong future for our next generations. I'm also deeply involved in my community through volunteer work such as being a member of Rotary where I jointly serve on the Peacebuilding Committee, promoting unity, service, and understanding.

Another organization I take pride on being a member of is the Canopy Initiative; an organization dedicated to ensuring our unhoused neighbors have a clear and compassionate pathway toward stability. I believe a strong county is one that invests in solutions that uplift everyone and leaves no one behind.

An athlete and advocate for teamwork, I am a founding member of Clarksville Roller Derby and currently skates with Vette City Roller Derby out of Bowling Green, KY. Previously serving as President and Treasurer, roller derby has shaped my leadership style, emphasizing resilience, trust, discipline, and the understanding that success is built through teamwork, not individual effort.

My campaign is about people, not politics. I'm committed to listening, collaborating across differences, and building county government that reflects the strength and diversity of its residents. I'm excited to show you who I am and why I am running this campaign season.

Renee's key issues to address
